Knowledge related to sponge rubber
Sponge rubber is a kind of porous elastomer material, which is also called foam rubber, foam rubber or microcellular rubber. It is the general name of various rubbers with pore structure. ASTM D1055 and ASTM D1056 respectively define and classify latex sponge and dry sponge, and develop methods for determining conventional physical properties. This standard defines that the pores of such porous materials should cover the entire material. According to the different pore structures, they can be divided into three types: closed pores (pores are not interconnected with each other), open pores (pores are not completely separated from each other by the pore walls and have a certain degree of connectivity), and mixed pores (both open and closed pore structures). Based on this, microporous rubber mainly includes two types: expanded rubber and sponge rubber. Due to differences in usage habits, the meaning of "sponge rubber" in domestic scientific and technological literature does not distinguish between the opening and closing mechanisms of foam cells.
