Inflatable Rubber Seal

An inflatable rubber seal (also known as a pneumatic seal or inflatable gasket) is a dynamic sealing solution that expands when pressurized with compressed air or gas to fill the gap between two mating surfaces, achieving a tight and reliable seal. Unlike conventional solid rubber seals, the sealing force can be actively controlled – inflate to seal, deflate to retract. This significantly reduces friction and wear during opening/closing operations, extending the service life of both the seal and the equipment.

1. Core Structure & Materials – Factory-Grade Quality

The inflatable seal features a sophisticated three-layer construction, which is a direct reflection of our manufacturing expertise:

Layer Function Our Advantage
Inner rubber layer Ensures air-tightness and prevents gas leakage. Premium compound formulation for optimal air retention.
Reinforcement layer The critical differentiator between standard and premium products. Woven fabric (e.g., nylon/polyamide) reinforcement provides high burst resistance and dimensional stability under pressure. Superior adhesion between fabric and rubber – our proprietary bonding process prevents delamination.
Outer rubber layer Directly contacts the sealing surface; determines weather, abrasion, and chemical resistance. Customized compounds for specific working environments.

Our Material Options (In-Stock & Ready for Production):

Material Key Properties Typical Applications
EPDM Excellent ozone, UV, and weathering resistance; wide temperature range (-40°C ~ +120°C). Outdoor equipment, industrial furnaces, nuclear airlocks, general industrial use.
NBR Outstanding oil and fuel resistance. Machinery, hydraulic systems, oil-contaminated environments.
FKM (Viton®) High-temperature resistance (up to 230°C) and chemical resistance. Harsh chemical processing, aerospace, high-heat applications.
Silicone FDA-compliant grades available; excellent flexibility at extreme low temperatures. Medical devices, food processing, pharmaceutical equipment.

2. Technical Specifications – Performance You Can Rely On

We maintain strict quality control throughout production. Below are our typical factory standards – all parameters are customizable per customer requirements:

Parameter Typical Value Remarks
Working Pressure 0.05 – 0.15 MPa (standard), up to 0.5 MPa (custom) Sealing force can be fine-tuned to suit different gap sizes and pressure differentials.
Operating Temperature -40°C ~ +120°C (EPDM grade) Reliable performance in extreme climates and high-heat industrial settings.
Hardness 30 – 80 Shore A Selectable based on surface roughness and required compression force.
Tensile Strength ≥ 6 MPa Ensures structural integrity under repeated pressurization cycles.
Elongation at Break ≥ 250% High elasticity ensures excellent conformation to irregular sealing surfaces.
Burst Pressure ≥ 3x working pressure Safety margin built into every product.

3. Our Manufacturing Process – See the Factory Difference

As a genuine factory, we control every step from raw material compounding to final delivery. Our key production capabilities include:

Precision Extrusion – Advanced extruders produce uniform cross-sectional profiles (round, D-shape, rectangular, U-shape, and custom shapes) with tight dimensional tolerances.

Reinforcement Bonding – Our proprietary surface treatment and adhesive system (e.g., Chemlok®-based) ensures ultra-high bond strength between the nylon fabric skeleton and the rubber layers – this is the cornerstone of long service life and preventing layer separation.

Segmented Vulcanization (Core Competency) – For large-diameter or endless seals, we employ segmented vulcanization with split-cavity molds. By precisely controlling temperature (e.g., 150°C) and curing time, we achieve joint strength and air-tightness that matches the main body – no weak points.

Precision Valve/Nozzle Installation – Metal or plastic inflation nozzles are securely embedded at designated positions with guaranteed leak-proof connections.

100% Leak Testing – Every seal undergoes pressurized air leak testing before shipment to ensure zero defects.

4. Key Application Fields

Industrial Equipment – Vacuum ovens, autoclaves, pressure vessels, reactors, filler systems, industrial furnace doors.

Nuclear & Energy – Nuclear power plant airlock doors, containment penetrations.

Aerospace & Defense – Aircraft cargo bay seals, hatch seals, military equipment.

Medical & Pharmaceutical – Sterilizers, cleanroom equipment, FDA-compliant applications.

General Industry – Container lids, access doors, automotive, railway, and architectural sealing.
