Global Rubber Price Recovery and Market Dynamics
As of December 25, 2025, the global natural rubber market has shown a steady recovery trend following a period of volatility. The price of RSS3 rubber futures for January 2026 delivery on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM) stood at 327.6 yen per kilogram, while Thailand's rubber futures for the same delivery period remained at 55.5 baht per kilogram, and China's January 2026 rubber futures on the Shanghai Futures Exchange were priced at 15,240 yuan per ton.
This price stability comes amid supply concerns triggered by adverse weather in Thailand, a major rubber-producing nation, and border tensions between Thailand and Cambodia, which have raised fears of potential supply disruptions. The Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) had earlier warned that unpredictable weather and low rubber prices have dampened production growth, with global natural rubber production in October 2025 rising by just 2.65% year-on-year to 1.49 million tons, below expectations. Meanwhile, global rubber consumption in October dropped sharply by 4.22% to 1.26 million tons, impacted by U.S. tariffs and anti-dumping measures on Chinese tires, which have curbed tire production and rubber demand in China.
