The latest data shows that the United States imported a total of 134.31 million tires in the first half of 2024, an increase of 13.5% year-on-year. Among them, the import of passenger car tires increased by 8% year-on-year to 82.46 million; the import of truck and bus tires increased by 27% year-on-year to 29.3 million; aircraft tires decreased by 8% year-on-year to 151,000; motorcycle tires increased by 31% year-on-year to 1.54 million; bicycle tires decreased by 3% year-on-year to 2.99 million.
In the first half of the year, the United States imported a total of 12.8 million tires from China, an increase of 7% year-on-year. Among them, passenger car tires decreased by 34% year-on-year to 790,000; truck and bus tires decreased by 26% year-on-year to 830,000.
In the first half of the year, the United States imported a total of 32.75 million tires from Thailand, an increase of 36% year-on-year. Among them, passenger car tires were 20.3 million, an increase of 31% year-on-year; truck and bus tires were 8.52 million, an increase of 42% year-on-year.
