Data show that the total production of natural and mixed rubber in Thailand in the first half of 2024 reached 2.37 million tons, down 13.4% from 2.74 million tons in the same period last year. In terms of specific varieties, the production of smoked sheet rubber remained the same year-on-year; standard rubber increased by 44.2% year-on-year; concentrated latex decreased by 23.5% year-on-year; and mixed rubber decreased by 16.2% year-on-year.
In the first half of the year, the country's domestic consumption of natural rubber and mixed rubber was 560,000 tons, down 12.1% year-on-year, compared with 640,000 tons in the same period last year. In terms of specific varieties, the consumption of smoked sheet rubber increased by 0.4% year-on-year; standard rubber decreased by 18.6% year-on-year; concentrated latex decreased by 11.3% year-on-year; and mixed rubber decreased by 17.5% year-on-year.
In addition, as of June, the inventory of natural rubber and mixed rubber in Thailand was 870,000 tons, down 5% year-on-year and 2.2% month-on-month. Among them, smoked sheet rubber accounted for 3%; standard rubber accounted for 15%; concentrated latex accounted for 11%; mixed rubber accounted for 3%; and others accounted for 68%.
