Technological Innovation: Breakthroughs in Bionic Plastics and Biomanufacturing
1. Progress of "Living Plastic" Technology
Harbin Institute of Technology and the Institute of Advanced Technology, Shenzhen, Chinese Academy of Sciences have developed PCL-based "living plastic" containing Bacillus subtilis spores.
Features: Can survive at room temperature, triggered enzymatic degradation in specific environments, does not produce microplastics.
This marks a shift in industry focus from "whether it can degrade" to "whether it can degrade upon command".
2. Acceleration of Domestic Production of High-End Materials
On August 3, 2026, Shin-Etsu Dali and Fengmei Piike signed a strategic cooperation agreement, officially laying out the domestic production of PEEK (polyetheretherketone), a high-end specialty engineering plastic.
The two parties have established an integrated model of "raw material supply + modification and manufacturing + joint research and development", breaking the reliance on imported high-end raw materials.
3. Breakthrough in Reverse Osmosis Membrane Technology
Warton Technology launched a new product, PURO-ULD anti-pollution reverse osmosis membrane in early August.
The domestic market size of reverse osmosis membranes is expected to reach 21 billion yuan in 2026, with a broad space for domestic substitution.
