Rubber prices continue to rise
Current price: As of September 24, 2026, the futures price of rubber is 19,480 yuan per ton
Year-to-date increase: The spot price of natural rubber has risen by approximately 14% compared to the beginning of the year, reaching a two-year high
Futures performance: The main contract of the Shanghai rubber futures once soared to 18,800 yuan per ton. On September 16, the rubber sector reversed the trend and the rubber products index rose by more than 2-3%
Supply and demand gap widens
The Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) predicts that in 2026, the global production of natural rubber will be approximately 15.32 million tons, and the consumption will reach 15.60 million tons, with a supply-demand gap of about 280,000 tons, which has expanded compared to 2025
The main reasons for the widening gap:
The aging problem of rubber trees in Thailand is becoming increasingly prominent
The leaf shedding disease in Indonesia continues to spread
The production forecast for Vietnam is expected to decline
The El Niño phenomenon has led to drought in production areas and interference with rubber tapping operations
