High Thermal Conductivity Electrical BMC Formulas Gain Traction For High-Voltage Insulation Parts

Leave a message

Material compounders are rolling out optimized bulk molding compound formulations with upgraded thermal conductivity, targeting medium- and high-voltage electrical insulation applications. Traditional BMC delivers stable insulation and flame retardancy, yet limited thermal transfer becomes a bottleneck as power density rises inside junction boxes, circuit breaker bases, and composite insulator structures. The new modified grades maintain core electrical properties including high CTI value, UL94 V‑0 rating and low water absorption, while boosting thermal conductivity without sacrificing dimensional stability during compression and injection molding.

These thermoset composites are suitable for molded components such as high‑voltage terminal seats, insulator cross arms, lighting housings, and motor insulation parts. They comply with mainstream IEC, RoHS and REACH standards, which helps OEMs simplify certification for power distribution and new energy equipment.

The market trend points to custom-tuned BMC instead of general-purpose grades. Buyers increasingly ask material and molding suppliers to adjust filler systems for specific thermal, tracking-resistance, and shrinkage requirements. This creates more opportunities for precision-molded thermoset parts used in electrical infrastructure and electrified transport.
