Akron, OH – The Rubber Division is hosting a special symposium Wednesday, April 15; 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Spring Technical Meeting that examines how elastomers deform, age, and ultimately fail, integrating insights from weathering studies, fracture and rupture mechanisms, and precision measurements. Experimental and nanoscale approaches, including AFM, accelerated aging and advanced mechanical testing, are combined with historical and theoretical perspectives on rubber elasticity.
