BMC Contactor Insulation Barrier
This cable joint insulating cover is manufactured by compression moulding of glass fibre-filled thermoset BMC. It wraps around splice points of power cables, forming a solid dielectric barrier that separates energised cores from surrounding grounded hardware. When fault current passes through the joint area, the cover maintains structural integrity and will not soften or deform under transient heat.
The material is compounded to resist surface tracking and arc erosion. It copes with repeated shifts between daytime high temperature and night cooling, as well as dew, light rain, and airborne dust that settle on the outer surface. Cured BMC keeps water absorption at a low level, so insulation resistance will not drop sharply after long exposure to wet environments. Sealing grooves and matching flanges are integrated into the moulded body; these features help with external sealing and stop moisture creeping into the joint cavity.
Dimensions, wall thickness, and end opening profiles are built around customer cable specifications and installation arrangements. Samples can be supplied for dielectric testing and fit verification with actual cable connectors before mass manufacturing.
