Thermoset & Thermoplastic Engineering Plastics for Industrial Component Manufacturing

Leave a message

Engineering plastics are high-performance polymer materials formulated to withstand demanding mechanical, thermal, and chemical operating conditions, widely adopted to replace metal and conventional plastic in industrial component production. They fall into two core categories: thermoplastics and thermosets.

Thermoplastics can be repeatedly softened by heat and reshaped through injection, extrusion and compression molding. Common grades include PP, ASA, TPV, PC and PTFE. They feature good toughness, impact resistance, and flexible processing, suitable for grommets, washers, protective sleeves, and complex precision molded parts.

Thermoset plastics undergo irreversible chemical cross-linking once cured. BMC is a typical representative. After molding, it will not soften again under heat, delivering excellent electrical insulation, high dimensional stability, flame retardancy, and compression resistance. It is the preferred material for electrical insulation bases, terminal blocks, circuit breaker components, and high-voltage insulation parts.

All these engineering plastics can be customized in hardness, filler formula, and surface finish according to application requirements. Finished parts are commonly supplied for electrical equipment, fluid control systems, automotive assemblies, and mechanical sealing structures, with available compliance testing for food contact and industrial safety standards.
