Metal Overmolding

Leave a message

Metal overmolding is an advanced molding technique that combines metal inserts with overmolding materials such as plastics, rubber, or silicone. Common processes include injection overmolding (placing a metal insert into a mold and injecting the overmolding material), insert molding (utilizing mechanical interlocking structures), and in-mold adhesive bonding. The primary objective is to enhance the product's structural strength, sealing performance, shock absorption, and tactile feel; this technique is broadly categorized into two approaches: full coverage and partial coverage.
