Classification of Rubber by Raw Material Source
Natural Rubber (NR): Produced by extracting and processing latex from plants such as rubber trees and rubber-yielding grasses; characterized by high elasticity and excellent abrasion resistance.
Synthetic Rubber (SR): Manufactured through polymerization reactions using petrochemical feedstocks (such as butadiene and styrene). Common varieties include styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), polybutadiene rubber (BR), nitrile rubber (NBR), and fluororubber (FKM), which are tailored to meet diverse performance requirements (e.g., resistance to oil, high temperatures, or low temperatures).
