1.Wide Operating Temperature - Silicone sponge has a temperature range of -100°F to 500°F (-73°C to 260°C).
2.Weather Sealing - Closed cell construction allows for good weather sealing with relatively low compressive forces. Available with UL 50 and UL 50E ratings.
3.Compression Set Resistance - Silicone has excellent compression set resistance (ability to spring back to original thickness)compared to most rubber materials, especially at higher temperatures. Low compression set silicone sponges outperform even general purpose grades.
4.UV and Ozone Resistance - Silicone products have excellent UV and ozone resistance due in part to their inorganic backbone.This provides long-term performance.
5.Robust - When silicone is required, silicone sponge parts have better toughness compared to silicone foam products.
6.Outdoor Gaskets - Considering all of the above advantages, silicone sponges are the ideal material choice for outdoor environments from arctic to desert.
7.FDA Approval - This is required for food and drug packaging equipment and product handling. NORSEAL R10470, R10480 Silicone Foam and R10404 Thermally Conductive Silicone Foam products are now FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 certified.
