Why Custom Geometry Matters

Maximizing Contact Area: Standard circular mounts leave significant gaps on rectangular machine bases. Our custom rectangular and contoured shapes utilize 100% of the available mounting surface. This distributes the static load more evenly, reducing the pressure per square inch (PSI) on the rubber and significantly extending the service life of the component.

Precision Alignment: The metal substrate in our assemblies acts as a rigid jig. By precision-punching or drilling mounting holes into the metal plate before molding, we ensure that the rubber component aligns perfectly with the equipment's bolt pattern every time. This eliminates the "walking" or shifting that occurs when installers try to align soft rubber pads manually.

Shear Load Management: In applications involving horizontal movement or high torque, pure rubber can deform excessively. The metal backing in our assemblies provides a rigid anchor point, allowing the rubber to function primarily in compression or controlled shear, rather than tearing away from the mount.

Customization Beyond Geometry

"Custom shape" implies more than just the outline of the part. It involves engineering the interface between the machine and the mount. In our production line, we accommodate various metal finishes and treatments to prevent corrosion, ensuring the steel insert lasts as long as the rubber. We also engineer the rubber thickness relative to the metal surface area to tune the stiffness of the part. A thicker rubber layer on a narrow metal strip will offer more deflection and softer isolation, while a thin layer on a wide plate will provide rigid support with minimal movement.

Furthermore, the integration of mounting holes directly into the metal insert simplifies assembly for the end-user. Instead of needing separate washers or complex clamping mechanisms, our assemblies arrive ready to bolt down. The precision of our molding tools ensures that hole patterns remain accurate, eliminating alignment issues during installation.
