Depending on the specific operational requirements, we can supply standard Type A FKM for general fuel and oil resistance, or higher-fluorine Type B and Type F compounds for enhanced resistance to aggressive aromatic solvents and acidic environments. For applications requiring improved low-temperature flexibility, specialized GFLT formulations are available. All materials are compounded with precise curing agents and fillers to achieve target physical properties, and we ensure compliance with RoHS standards to guarantee the absence of restricted hazardous substances.

Manufacturing Precision and Quality Assurance

Our manufacturing process utilizes advanced compression molding techniques optimized for the high-temperature curing requirements of FKM. Precision-machined molds ensure that the O-rings meet strict dimensional tolerances, typically conforming to AS568, ISO, or JIS standards. The cross-linking density achieved during the molding and subsequent post-cure processes is critical; it directly influences the O-ring's compression set and long-term sealing reliability under continuous thermal stress.

Dimensional inspections are carried out using optical comparators and coordinate measuring machines to ensure geometric accuracy, which is essential for preventing leakage in dynamic and static sealing applications.

Functional Performance and Application Suitability

The primary functional advantage of our brown FKM O-rings is their exceptional thermal stability. These seals are engineered for continuous operation at temperatures up to +200°C, with certain specialized grades capable of withstanding continuous exposure up to +240°C and intermittent peaks up to +280°C. This thermal resistance significantly exceeds that of standard NBR or EPDM elastomers.

Chemically, the high fluorine content provides outstanding resistance to a wide range of petroleum-based fluids, including mineral oils, synthetic lubricants, gasoline (including ethanol blends), diesel, and aviation fuels. The material also demonstrates strong resistance to ozone, UV radiation, and atmospheric aging, ensuring long service life in outdoor or harsh environments. Furthermore, FKM exhibits low gas permeability, making it suitable for vacuum systems and gas-handling equipment.

It is important to note the functional limitations of FKM to ensure proper application. These O-rings are not recommended for use with hot water, steam, or ethylene glycol brake fluids, where EPDM is typically more suitable. Additionally, FKM exhibits poor resistance to low-molecular-weight ketones and esters, which can cause swelling and degradation. We advise clients to verify chemical compatibility based on specific fluid concentrations, temperatures, and exposure times before deployment.
