Customized CR Strip for Weather-Resistant Sealing
CR, or chloroprene rubber, forms the base of this extruded CR strip. It works reliably in conditions from -40°C up to 100°C. In outdoor settings, sunlight and ozone slowly break down many elastomers, but CR slows that degradation. It also holds up against light contact with lubricating oils, so it fits sealing work on vehicle assemblies, outdoor electrical enclosures, and building exterior joints.
Each profile is shaped using custom extrusion dies made to match the drawings provided by buyers. Hardness can be tuned anywhere between 40A and 80A. Not every colour is achievable; pigment compatibility with the CR compound sets limits on colour selection. The die surface directly decides whether the final strip has a smooth or textured outer finish.
Cut lengths are adjusted to fit the end user's assembly routine. Pre-production test pieces come from the same die and rubber mix used in full production. Clients can run their own compression and ageing checks on these samples to confirm the part fits their hardware before full production begins.
Once installed under compression, the CR material holds its elastic property over time. It copes with minor, repeated movement without permanent deformation. When needed, the rubber formulation can be adjusted to improve flame retardancy or help the strip bond better to metal mounting surfaces.
