It is typically a metal ring with a specific bevel angle, which achieves high-pressure, high-reliability sealing through a tight fit with the male and female tapered surfaces of the union connector.
Working Principle (Metal-to-Metal Line Seal):
When the union connection is tightened via bolts or threaded collars, the male and female components move axially, compressing the softer metal seal ring between their harder, precision-machined sealing shoulders.
