Material Compounding and Selection

The performance of a rubber damper or silent block is fundamentally determined by the elastomer compound. We formulate or select materials based on the operational environment, load requirements, and service life expectations of each application. Our standard material portfolio includes:

Natural Rubber (NR): Selected for applications requiring high elasticity, excellent fatigue resistance, and effective low-frequency vibration isolation. Suitable for general-purpose industrial and automotive mounts.

Nitrile Rubber (NBR): Formulated for environments with exposure to oils, greases, or petroleum-based fluids. NBR maintains dimensional stability and physical properties in such conditions.

EPDM: Utilized for outdoor or high-temperature applications due to its superior resistance to ozone, UV radiation, and weathering. Commonly specified for HVAC systems and exterior architectural mounts.

Silicone (VMQ): Chosen for extreme temperature ranges, from cryogenic conditions to continuous high-heat exposure, while retaining flexibility and electrical insulation properties.

Polyurethane (PU): Deployed when higher load-bearing capacity and abrasion resistance are required. PU offers a wider durometer range and better tear resistance in high-wear environments.

Compounds can be adjusted for durometer, tensile strength, elongation, and compression set to match client technical specifications.

Our facility employs multiple molding and fabrication techniques to accommodate varying geometries, tolerances, and production volumes.

Compression and Transfer Molding: Used for medium to high-volume production of standard and semi-custom dampers. Metal inserts, when required, are pre-treated with bonding agents and positioned in the mold cavity before vulcanization to ensure a permanent rubber-to-metal bond.

Injection Molding: Applied for complex geometries, tight tolerances, and parts requiring consistent, flash-free finishes. This process is typical for precision vibration dampers in automotive and electronics sectors.

CNC Machining and Die Cutting: For prototyping, low-volume runs, or non-moldable profiles, we machine or die-cut rubber blocks, strips, and gaskets from cured slabs. This allows for rapid iteration without mold lead times.

Bonding Technology: We offer rubber-to-metal bonding using chemically treated inserts and structural adhesives. Pull-out torque and shear strength testing is conducted on production samples to verify bond integrity under dynamic loading conditions.

Customization includes integrating threaded inserts, tapped holes, slotted mounting patterns, and specific surface textures directly into the molding process.
